NSK Ekiden

With a silver medal around the neck and a little bit of alcohol in the blood, the Tartletes are on their way to the train station again. Packed with tents and sleeping bags, but in mind the fantastic victory and the great party …

Enschede was the place to be last Saturday, because NSK Ekiden took place. Tartlétos participated with a men’s team and Tessa Rozemuller ran in a combined team with Kronos members. The atmosphere was good and the rivalry too, but we still have Cheetos! Thaem Mous started for the Tartlétosteam and Tessa for the combi-team. This resulted in two 3rd places after the first 5 kilometers. Julien van Dijk Took over the sash from Thaem for his 10 kilometers. The 10 was certainly not fun with the heat, but Julien ran the team to the 2nd place. It almost looked like someone from Kronos took over the sash from Julien, but luckily it was Christiaan van der Gaag unfortunately in his Pallas singlet. He ran the two laps around the campus quickly and the 2nd place was retained. In the meantime Daan Reijnen was ready to start. The sash was passed on and Daan started his four rounds. Fortunately there were more Daan’s running at that moment, so a lot of cheering for Daan. Joran de Bie took over from Daan for the last 5 kilometers of the day. The goal was to keep the 2nd place and Joran accomplished that. Tim van Rooij had to finish the job on the 7.195. It was not really exciting anymore, because there were big caps in the field. After three quick rounds, Tim was the 2nd athlete to cross the finish line and the party could start. The combi-team which Tessa joint, got 4th place, but fortunately she could celebrate with the men’s team. Judith was just on time to make a picture of the stage. Now this day will never be forgotten. The day traditionally ended with a good meal, a fun game and of course a party.
